The Australian Government’s investment of $48 million in The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program has helped an extra 24,000 disadvantaged students by providing them support to succeed at school and reach their potential.

The Learning for Life program provides long-term support through scholarships to pay for school supplies, practical support for the student and their family, and access to education opportunities outside of school, including mentoring and career activities, literacy and numeracy programs.
Through the program, 56,200 young people in about 90 disadvantaged communities, many in regional areas, are being supported to stay at school and go on to further studies or a job. For more information please visit the Minister’s Media Centre or the Parent Engagement in Children’s Learning page.
