This subsidy helps families with the cost of child care while they are transitioning to work from income support by engaging in work, study or training activities.

Who can get ACCS transition to work?
ACCS (transition to work) is available to individuals who:
- are eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) (they can apply for both at the same time),
- have a family income under $70,015
- receive one of the following income support payments:
Parenting Payment, JobSeeker Payment, Disability Support Pension, Youth Allowance, or a payment prescribed by the Minister’s rules.
- have an active Job Plan (if required), and
- are engaged in a recognised work, study or training activity.
What do families get?
The number of hours of subsided care a family will be entitled to depends on their activity level.
If the individual has a partner, the activity test result is determined by the person doing the least amount of activity.
The family will receive the lower of either:
- 95% of the fee charged where it is equal to or below the hourly rate cap, or
- up to 95% of the hourly rate cap where the fee charged is above the hourly rate cap.
The subsidy is paid directly to approved providers.
Families must tell Services Australia if their circumstances change.
The length of time families can get this subsidy depends on whether they are studying, looking for a job, working or training.

How do families apply?
Families apply for ACCS (transition to work) using their Centrelink online account through myGov or through the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app or by visiting a Centrelink office and apply in person.
Families need supporting documents when applying.
