About the Child Care Package
The Child Care Package is helping parents and carers who rely on subsidised child care to work, train, study or volunteer. The Child Care Package comprises the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Child Care Safety Net.

Australian families receive help with the cost of child care through CCS. CCS is generally paid directly to service providers and passed on to families as a fee reduction.

The Child Care Safety Net gives families and services extra support if they are vulnerable and disadvantaged, or located in regional or remote communities. The safety net includes:
