Online Employment Services Evaluation

The department is seeking feedback on Online Employment Services (OES) to evaluate how well these services are meeting the needs of users.

Some job seekers, employers and other stakeholders will be invited to participate in research activities, to help the department understand their experiences and improve services into the future.

Online Employment Services are the Australian Government’s mainstream online employment servicing platform on the jobactive website. It was created in April 2020 in response to the increased demand for employment services because of the COVID-19 pandemic. OES allows the most job ready job seekers to manage their job search and reporting requirements online.

The department is conducting an evaluation to examine the appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of OES. This includes interviews, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and surveys of a range of relevant stakeholders, including job seekers and employers.

For Job Seekers

Wallis Social Research has been commissioned by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment to conduct research with people currently engaged with employment services. You may be contacted to participate in an interview, focus group, in-depth interview, or to complete a survey.

Your feedback will be used to improve the delivery of online employment services. By sharing your thoughts and experiences you can help us to better meet your needs and the needs of other job seekers in the future.

For Employers

Wallis Social Research has been commissioned by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment to conduct research with employers on their recruitment experiences, including if they have used the Job Search website to advertise vacancies. You may be contacted to participate in an interview or to complete a survey.

Your feedback will provide valuable insights into employers’ recruitment needs and improve digital services provided to employers by the department.

Your personal information, including your responses to any interview or survey questions and any additional information you provide, is protected by law, including the Privacy Act 1988.

Participating in this research is optional, with no consequences if you choose not to participate. You may choose to stop participating at any time, and this will not impact any government assistance you may be receiving.
