The Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business (the department) sought tenders from Respondents to deliver the Regional Employment Trials (RET) Program. The RET Program will assist job seekers in five new trial regions to access localised employment services and economic growth opportunities.

In total, the RET Program supports local stakeholders in ten selected disadvantaged regions to develop and implement tailored projects, in partnership with existing employment services providers that address local employment issues and gaps. The project will be supported through a Local Employment Initiative Fund, of $1 million per region.
The program commenced on 1 October 2018 and ends on 30 June 2020 in the five new identified Regional Development Australia (RDA) regions.
