On 11 May 2021, as part of the 2021–22 Federal Budget, the Australian Government announced the continuation and expansion of Transition to Work, confirming that a further $481.2 million will be invested into the service over the next 4 years from 2021–22.
While Transition to Work will continue to have its own program settings and separate funding arrangements, it will also be integrated as the youth Specialist service within the new employment services model.
See more information about the new employment services model commencing on 1 July 2022.
In addition, the Youth Advisory Sessions initiative will be permanently included as part of the enhanced Transition to Work service. Young people in Digital Services will continue to have access to up to 3 free advisory sessions with Transition to Work providers.
See Youth Advisory Sessions initiative for more information.
The department has prepared a Consultation Paper to inform stakeholders of the intended changes to the Transition to Work Service. The Consultation Paper provides stakeholders an opportunity to submit feedback on the changes. The feedback will be used to inform the content for the Request for Tender for the new Transition to Work service to commence on 1 July 2022.
