The department continues to explore and invest in innovative technologies and is recognised as being at the forefront of the deployment of these technologies within the Australian Public Service (APS). The department is a leader in the deployment of Microsoft technologies such as .Net, SharePoint, Exchange, SQL, Windows and the Office Suite. Our desktop applications and facilities are also considered cutting edge within government.
What our digital graduates do
Opportunities for graduates are varied and could include, for example, development/coding (mainly Microsoft product suite), project management, production support, business analysis, database development and administration (SQL), data warehousing and analytics, network and gateway, ICT security, testing, server build and management, contract management, system administration and operations, unified communications, mobile workspaces, ICT forensics and user experience design.

This year, DESE is using the whole of government digital recruitment program being managed by the Digital Transformation Agency to recruit our 2021 graduates.
