Local Recovery Funds

A Local Recovery Fund is available in the Murray and South East region for projects that meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.

Projects will be identified for funding through periodic Request for Proposals (RFP).

Please contact your local Employment Facilitator for information about the Local Recovery Fund and to discuss project proposals.

Activity Name Organisation Partnering Employment Services Provider Description
Connect, Match, Support and Driver Education South East Australian Red Cross Society Job Prospects The Activity will support refugee and migrant job seekers to gain employment through three components:
  • Driver Mentor Program – skilled driving mentors will assist participants to gain their probationary licence and provide vehicle safety education
  • Job readiness training – one-to-one mentoring, English and computer training, access to volunteering opportunities, and job application and interview support, and
    • Connect/Match/Support – participants will be connected with employers with fill local employment opportunities.
Greenlight2Work Employment Options Inc. Sureway Employment and Training The activity will support 30 jobseekers aged 17-24 to participate in an 8-week program to assist them to obtain their learner drivers permit and become more competitive in the jobs market.
South East Community Services Training Project Boandik Lodge Incorporated Job Prospects This activity provides training and employment opportunities for 17 participants and delivery of mentor and support training to 50 existing staff members, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds. This program also includes developing and delivering a training program for disability support staff; developing, and delivering hotel services pre-employment program; developing, and delivering an on-the-job employability skills program in aged care.
Riverland Local Jobs Project Australian Red Cross Society Job Prospects This activity will provide support for 25 participants, including women and people aged over 50 to attain their provisional driving licence, improve their job readiness and connect to employment opportunities.
Growing Regional Tourism & Employment Project Quality College of Australia Job Prospects This activity will deliver pre-employment hospitality training in two locations in Murray and South East Employment Region, which will cover accredited and non-accredited modules on customer service and skills practice to prepare participants for work in the hospitality industry.
