Local Recovery Funds

A Local Recovery Fund is available in the North and North Western Tasmania region for projects that meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.

Projects will be identified for funding through periodic Request for Proposals (RFP).

Please contact your local Employment Facilitator for information about the Local Recovery Fund and to discuss project proposals.

Disability Sector Sustainable Employment Project National Disability Services Limited CVGT Australia Limited This activity involves facilitating ongoing relationships and frameworks between jobactive providers and disability service providers to support the labour force needs of the disability service sector in the North and North Western Tasmania Employment Region. This activity also aims to increase awareness of, and access to, careers in the sector
Work in the Disability Service Sector Migrant Resource Centre Northern Tas Inc CVGT Australia Limited 

This activity involves preparing job seekers, primarily from refugee and CALD backgrounds, living in Launceston to access employment opportunities in caring, domestic and maintenance roles in the disability service sector.

The activity will deliver a 7-week course aimed at creating a direct pathway to employment for participants by supporting them to develop their employability and entry level skills to secure an apprenticeship or traineeship. Employers that currently have, or anticipate vacancies for apprentices or trainees, will provide participants with industry experience, networks and work placements.

The program will benefit employers by connecting them to a broader pool of labour, and job seekers will be supported to explore their strengths and interests in specific workplaces and opportunities. work experience placements in the disability service sector.

Circular Head Dairy Pre-Employment Program The Trustee for The Salvation Army (Victoria) Property Trust The Salvation Army Employment Plus (EPlus) This activity is an 8-week program targeted at unemployed participants that combines employability and life skills with accredited, industry-based training to prepare and place them in positions within the local dairy industry.
Northwest Regional Workforce Mobilisation Project Brumby Hill Aboriginal Corporation MAX Solutions Pty Ltd (trading as MAX Employment) The activity involves providing intensive ‘wrap around’ support and employment preparatory training to 35 Indigenous job seekers from the local community in the North West coast of Tasmania.

The activity will assist participants to obtain work experience and employment with culturally supportive workplaces and include education and tailored post-placement support. The cultural competency of local employers will be also be improved through their engagement with this activity.

Helping Burnie Work into the Future Burnie Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc Enterprise Management Group Pty Ltd (trading as My Pathway)

This activity is a 6-week program to enable up to 32 long term unemployed people in the Burnie area to improve motivation, employability and acquire work ready skills. This is a business led program that links local small and medium business with long term unemployed people with multiple barriers to employment.

The program draws on well-established local relationships and previous work to create change for individuals by facilitating improved connections to local employers and confidence for job seekers.

Games Fest – Digital Work is Real Northern Joblink Limited (trading as National Joblink) Northern Joblink (TTW Provider)

The activity will improve the job-readiness of 20 job seekers, with a focus on young people who have an interest in online games. The project will improve the transferability of participant’s existing skills and connections to technology related industries in the region. It will combine blocks of gaming industry themed experiential learning and work preparation training over 13 weeks.

The activity will include two Employability Skills Training courses (for up to 40 people) as a lead-in to the 13-week activity.

The activity will include events with local employers to maximise opportunities for employment, work experience and networking for participants.

Pathways to an Apprenticeship or Traineeship Program (PAT) (Northern Tasmania) Work & Training Limited Enterprise Management Group Pty Ltd (Trading as My Pathway)

The activity will deliver a 7-week course aimed at creating a direct pathway to employment for participants by supporting them to develop their employability and entry level skills to secure an apprenticeship or traineeship. Watershed Employment Program Big hART Inc Northern Joblink Limited (Trading as National Joblink)

This activity involves preparing a group of 20 job seekers aged between 16-24 to access employment placements in the hospitality, care, agriculture and creative industries. 

The activity will deliver pre-employment experiences for participants through a combination of workshops, training sessions, work-like experiences, mentoring, industry exposure opportunities and delivery of recreational activities, community services and seasonal events.
