Local Recovery Funds
A Local Recovery Fund is available in the South Eastern Melbourne and Peninsula region for projects that meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.
Projects will be identified for funding through periodic Request for Proposals (RFP).
Please contact your local Employment Facilitator for information about the Local Recovery Fund and to discuss project proposals.

SEMMA Welding Skills Training Project | South Eastern Melbourne Manufacturers’ Alliance Inc. | MAX Solutions Pty Ltd | This activity includes the delivery of a 150-hour, industry-led, 4-week targeted welding short-course training program to 60 participants, and aims to address a skills shortage through delivery of tailored and targeted training aligned to local employer skill requirements as well as industry needs. The activity is targeted to the Youth, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Female cohorts, as well as individuals who were impacted by COVID-19 in their previous employment. The activity will also facilitate participant job placements, and is run by the South Eastern Melbourne Manufacturers’ Alliance Inc. |
Disability Support Worker Activity (South Eastern Melbourne and Peninsula Employment Region) | Generation Australia Ltd | WISE Employment | This activity involves the delivery of a seven-week online, tailored training course—as co-designed with local disability care employers to ensure alignment with local industry needs and role requirements—to prepare at least 40 participants for entry-level roles in the disability care sector, as well as participant mentoring and career coaching. This activity will also facilitate the placement of at least 32 participants within the disability care sector. The activity is run by Generation Australia Ltd. |
Skill Up and Placement Programme | Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited | MatchWorks | The activity involves the delivery of pre-employment job readiness training and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator Skills short course training to 45 participants. The training aims to address a skill shortage for CNC operators in the region and is aligned with the requirements of employers in the advanced and precision manufacturing sector. The activity will target youth and other disadvantaged participants as well as those whose previous employment has been impacted by COVID-19. |
