Managing Relocation Assistance to Take up a Job

Relocation Assistance to Take Up a Job (RATTUAJ) provides financial assistance to long-term unemployed job seekers and other designated Participants to relocate to take up ongoing, full time work, and can help Employers attract staff outside their local area. RATTUAJ can provide up to $9,000 (GST exclusive) to assist the Participant with moving.

In the 2020-21 Budget, the Australian Government announced a temporary expansion to RATTUAJ. From 1 December 2020 until 31 December 2021 inclusive, all job seekers participating in employment services programs will be immediately eligible for RATTUAJ.

This Guideline sets out Providers’ obligations in relation to managing RATTUAJ Payments for eligible Participants who relocate to take up ongoing, full time work. In relation to managing RATTUAJ Payments for short-term agricultural work, Providers must refer to the Managing Relocation Assistance to Take Up a Job for Short-term Agricultural Work Guideline
