As part of the New Employment Services Model commencing July 2022, the Australian Government is establishing a panel of Workforce Specialists. These organisations will deliver a range of strategic projects to meet the workforce needs of identified industries and occupations, connecting them to suitable job seekers in Digital Services and Enhanced Services.

The Department of Education, Skills and Employment is developing a Workforce Connections Plan that will identify key industries and occupations with significant labour market opportunities for job seekers to inform the delivery of Workforce Specialist projects.

The Department is consulting with interested parties including representatives from industry, employers, state and territory governments and other Australian Government departments to inform development of the first Workforce Connections Plan.
