Since 2008, the Australian Government has funded state and territory governments to provide quality preschool programs through the Universal Access National Partnership (UANP). This page provides information about Universal Access National Partnership (UANP) agreements to date.

National Partnerships

The Council of Australian Governments signed the first National Partnership Agreement on 29 November 2008.

The 2020 National partnership brings the total Australian Government funding made available to states and territories to $4.2 billion.

Data collection

The Australian Bureau of Statistics collects data about early childhood education and care annually. We use this data to monitor progress under the National Partnerships.
