Macleay College’s continuation of Journalism courses

Macleay College advised students and teachers by email on Friday 11 March 2022 at 5.15pm that the College will be withdrawing its Diploma of Journalism and Bachelor of Journalism courses. Macleay has since emailed all students to let them know that the course is continuing, and they can stay enrolled and continue/complete their journalism course as planned.

We understand that this was particularly stressful for enrolled students, and we encourage students to work with Macleay College regarding their study or placement options (if students decide to leave Macleay).

TPS is in place to support students where an education provider is unable to commence or continue to provide the course they are enrolled in. If any student is not happy with how Macleay is advising or assisting them, they should contact TPS and we will assist students.

Affected students can find further information on the following TPS web pages:

Macleay College has extended the census date from 18 March to 1 April which gives students additional time to withdraw from the course to avoid accumulating further HELP debt.  If you are considering doing this, you should keep in mind that you can withdraw from individual units of study without withdrawing from the entire course.

If you are an affected student, please contact Macleay College to discuss your options and check the TPS web links above relevant to your circumstances. If Macleay College is unable to assist you, you should contact:
